This civilian position is responsible for the administration, review, and dissemination of Body-Worn Camera (BWC) footage in compliance with agency policies and applicable laws. The incumbent reviews and redacts confidential information and fulfills public records requests for BWC footage in accordance with Florida State Statutes. This role coordinates with the State Attorney's Office, Public Defender's Office, and court personnel to ensure records are appropriately released and not part of active investigations. The position provides videos for both internal and external requests, responds to public inquiries, testifies in court when required, and maintains professional relationships with agency personnel, outside agencies, and community partners, while ensuring full compliance with General Orders and all applicable laws. Work is performed in an office environment. Operates standard office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, and telephone, and computer software such as word processing, audio/video editing and document editing. Physical demands consist of sitting or standing at a workstation for extended periods of time, using and occasionally lifting and moving objects weighing less than 40 lbs. The employee is exposed to sensitive documents and must have knowledge of what information needs to be redacted per the Florida Statutes. This position has access to extremely confidential information, for this reason, the employee must sign a confidentiality agreement that will lead to termination if violated. The work is performed under general supervision where the work assignments are varied and, although subject to standard practice and procedures, the worker is permitted some latitude to set own priorities subject to supervisor’s approval.
OPEN REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least two (2) years of experience in public records redaction. One (1) year of body-worn camera experience preferred.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: A valid driver’s license is a requirement prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class. In addition, must qualify for, obtain, and maintain during employment in this class, a City of Jacksonville Public Driver Certification.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The probationary period for this class is twelve months.
