Under the direct supervision of the JSO Safety & Prevention Unit, the School Crossing Guard is responsible for the safe and orderly crossing of school-age children at their assigned location. Work is performed under direct supervision and in accordance with established rules and regulations procedures established by the Florida Department of Transportation. Advice and assistance are available in unusual situations via your Supervisor or the School Crossing Guard Administration Office. A School Crossing Guards work is reviewed through inspection twice a year and annual training is required.
